Gallery:   Religious Architecture

Throughout history, religion has played a key role in society and our communities. Iowa religious architecture at the early half of the 20th century was heavily influenced by our rural society and the traditional cross-shaped Europen bascilla plan. Today, church design continues to evolve in many ways. Churches are attempting to regain their role as the center of the social community spurring a reevaluation of their programs and worship services.
